James W. Parker Middle School recently sold out two shows, and nearly sold out a third performance of Shrek

Grades 5 through 8 came together to perform the Broadway Jr. version of the popular 2001 Dream Works movie.  Kate Amatuzzo, the middle school choir teacher, has been directing the musicals for the past four years. This was her first production with sold out performances since taking the position as choir director in 2011.

This performance was the most extravagant show the middle school has done.  In fact with all the costumes and wigs needed to fully portray all of the fairytale creatures, it was a Herculean effort by Amatuzzo and her staff.  Different types of spirit wear could be purchased, such as T Shirts and key chains and even ogre ears, to commemorate the show.  It was clear that the children and parents alike put in an abundance of work to put this play together.

The next production Amatuzzo and her students will perform is their annual talent show, followed by the spring concert.
