Event on Autism and social skills planned Oct. 21 at Behrend

Penn State Behrend is hosting an Autism in Our Community event Saturday, Oct. 21, and Dr. Jed Baker will discuss ways to prevent anxiety and stress among students with ASD in his presentation called “Managing Frustration and Anxiety and Teaching Social Skills.” Baker is an award-winning author who has nine published works and he is the director of a Social Skills Training Project.

He will also discuss how caregivers can help students with ASD, ADHD, anxiety, mood disorders, and learning challenges learn to improve social skills and use them in everyday situations to help to gain acceptance from others.  

The event will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and tickets cost $20.
