Seven Fighting Scots Ranked as WIN, WrestlingReport.com Preseason Polls Come Out

EDINBORO, Pa. (Sept. 26, 2014) – Riding the wave of a fifth place finish at the NCAA Division I National Championships and with three returning All-Americans, the Edinboro wrestling team is highly-rated as WIN's and WrestlingReport.com's preseason rankings have been released. Seven Fighting Scots show up in the individual rankings, and Edinboro is ranked ninth in WIN's Preseason Tournament Power Index. 

Edinboro Looks to Extend Winning Streak at Local Rivals Mercyhurst, Gannon

EDINBORO, Pa. (September 25, 2014) – The Edinboro volleyball team will make the short trek up I-79 to take on a pair of local PSAC rivals this weekend in Mercyhurst and Gannon. The Fighting Scots are currently riding a nine-match winning streak, their longest since winning 16 contests in a row during the 2010 campaign. Edinboro kicks off its PSAC Western Division schedule travelling to Mercyhurst on Friday night for a 7 p.m. start, before battling host Gannon on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.

EDINBORO, Pa. – the Edinboro women's soccer team made it back-to-back wins on Wednesday night with a 2-1 win over Seton Hill in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match at Sox Harrison Stadium. The victory boosted Edinboro's record to 2-4-1 overall and in the PSAC, while the Griffins are now 3-3-1 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play.

The Fighting Scots fell from 14th in the preseason poll and are the only PSAC team ranked.

CHEYNEY, Pa.(September 20, 2014) – The Edinboro women's volleyball team ran its winning streak to nine matches in a row with a pair of lopsided wins while competing in PSAC Crossover action at Cheyney on Saturday. The Fighting Scots won in three games over the host Wolves, 25-11, 25-7, 25-13, then handed Kutztown a similar defeat by scores of 25-12, 25-18, 25-15. Edinboro improved to 11-2 overall and 4-0 in the PSAC, while Cheyney is 1-7 and 0-2, respectively, and Kutztown 5-5 and 0-4.

EDINBORO, Pa. (September 20, 2014) – Edinboro's 47-34 win was entertaining for the fans and featured plenty of exciting plays, but it turned into a nightmare for head coach Scott Browning and defensive coordinator Wayne Bradford. In the end the Fighting Scots fell to 0-3 overall and 0-2 in PSAC action with the loss in the home opener, marking the first time an Edinboro team has been 0-3 since 1995. East Stroudsburg improved to 2-1 overall and 1-1 in the PSAC.

The match kicks-off at 5:00 p.m. at Sox Harrison Stadium as Edinboro seeks its first win of the season. The Fighting Scots enter the contest 0-4-1 overall and in the PSAC. The Raiders are 1-2-1 overall and in conference play.
