Keshawn Liggins on Bevo Francis Award Watch List

EDINBORO, Pa. – Small College Basketball has released the Top 100 Watch List for the 2017-18 Bevo Francis Award, with Edinboro University senior Keshawn Liggins (Middleton, Id./Middleton) on the list. The list currently includes the top 100 small college basketball players, and will be paired down to 50 players on February 15, then 25 on March 15, until the finalists are announced on March 31. The award winner will be announced on April 2. The watch list includes players from Division II, Division III, the NAIA, USCAA and NCCAA.

Schoffstall Named PSAC Co-Wrestler of the Week

EDINBORO, Pa. -- Redshirt senior Ty Schoffstall has been named PSAC Co-Wrestler of the Week after winning the 174 lbs. title, going 5-0 on the day at the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Invitational on Saturday. This is his first PSAC award of the season.

Indiana(Pa)'s Dante Lombardi delivered the dagger, hitting a long 3-pointer with 1.8 seconds remaining to hand the Fighting Scots a 70-67 defeat at McComb Fieldhouse. The loss dropped Edinboro to 10-5 overall and 7-4 in the PSAC, while IUP is now 12-5 and 8-2, respectively.

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – Redshirt senior Ty Schoffstall led five Fighting Scot wrestlers at the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Classic on Saturday, winning the title at 174 lbs. The tournament was hosted by Millersville. The Fighting Scots finished seventh in the team standings (54 points), tied with Lehigh. Rutgers was the team champion.

WICHITA FALLS, Kan. -- The Fighting Scot wheelchair basketball team wrapped up play at the Wichita State Tournament splitting their contests against Missouri and Nebraska-Omaha. Edinboro fell in the Day 2 opener to the Tigers of Missouri, 51-42 before rebounding for the 67-63 win over UNO. The Fighting Scots are now 10-9 on the season.

Originally scheduled for Saturday, January 13 at 11:00 a.m., the meet was moved up 24 hours due to potential adverse travel conditions. Shippensburg's meet at Gannon was also moved up a day, and the two teams will now take to the pool on Thursday night.
