Edinboro University continues the ART100 celebration with a free public Art Talk from visual artist Synthia Saint James on Thursday, March 19, on Edinboro’s main campus.

Saint James is an American visual artist, author, keynote speaker and educator who is best known for the original cover art of the hardcover edition of Terry McMillan's book “Waiting to Exhale.” She will highlight the 7 p.m. lecture in the recital space of Edinboro’s Dr. William P. Alexander Music Center.

Jefferson Educational Society, a nonprofit civic-engagement institution founded in 2008, launched an Edinboro Satellite Programming series in 2019 to offer Tuesday programming on campus through the summer and fall.

As part of the series, Dr. Andy Roth will present “American Tapestry: The Stories We Tell Ourselves.” As a Scholar-in-Residence at the Jefferson Educational Society (JES), Roth is working with his colleagues to enhance the Jefferson Civic Leadership Academy by including an academically oriented research component to the program. She will be competing for the title of Miss Pennsylvania in June 2020. She will share her story of resiliency, following multiple concussions.

In conjunction with "Reading Across America Day" participants will celebrate an elaborate nation of diverse readers. Several space-themed books for children will be read under the stars! Join Edinboro University Theatre as we try and find the witches among us during our performance of "The Crucible," an adaptation of the 1953 play by American playwright Arthur Miller. The performance is a dramatized and partially fictionalized story of the Salem Witch Trials that took place in the Massachusetts Bay Colony during the 17th Century. Grab your broom sticks and fly on over for this can’t miss performance!
