The second annual Wings for Wishes took place on Thursday, March 26 at the Edinboro Hotel Bar.
Held by the Applied Communicators of Edinboro (ACE), Wings for Wishes is a eating competition to raise money for Make-A-Wish in tandem with the Edinboro University Athletics Department whose goal is to make $10,000.
The goal for ACE is to raise $2,000 overall during two Wings for Wishes events. That is $12,000 in total for Make-A-Wish.
Dr. Tim Thompson is the advisor of ACE and the coordinator of the event.
“Counting T-shirt sponsors, so far the Big Wish events have raised over $1500; about $400 was raised that evening at the Wings for Wishes,” Thompson said.
Four teams participated in this round of Wings for Wishes. A team of Theta Chi, Comm Studies, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and a mixed team. Theta Chi came out on top.
The next Wings for Wishes wing eating contest will be held at Buffalo Wild Wings in Erie on Thursday, April 9 at 7 p.m.
