Edinboro University is in search of a student graduating in May of 2015 who would like to speak at the commencement ceremony as well as the Academic Honors Convocation.

A graduating senior who wishes to speak at the commencement must meet the following criteria: a minimum grade point average of 3.5; a minimum of 60 credits attempted and earned at Edinboro University; and a completed graduation card for the ceremony under consideration.

An email was sent out recently to the students who meet these requirements by Dr. Michael Hannan, provost and vice president for academic affairs.

Students are asked to please check their official university email accounts to see if they have received this potential opportunity. If you have received this email about being a speaker, then you are able to submit a proposal.

Please send or deliver a one-page synopsis of the address you propose to deliver to the office of the provost, Reeder Hall, first floor, no later than Friday, March 20. You may also e-mail the synopsis to Sheila Taylor, at smtaylor@edinboro.edu.

A committee of academic deans and students will review the proposals and select the finalists. Each finalist will be contacted to arrange for a brief oral presentation of his or her topic to the committee during the week of March 23.

The undergraduate spring commencement will take place Saturday May 9 at 10 a.m.

If you have any questions, contact the office of the provost at (814) 732-2729.
