TOMS unveiling new one-to-one eye wear program

TOMS will present their new eye wear, Visual Options, to the community on Saturday Sept. 6.

Visual Options will be hosting their launch event in Erie from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Visual Options showroom on Zuck Road in Erie.

Recently, TOMS launched their new eye wear business, Visual Options, at the 2014 Vision Expo in New York City.

Those involved in the project include Jeet Sabherwal and Ravinder Sabherwal alongside of TOMS CEO Blake Mycoskie.

TOMS, known worldwide for their one-to-one shoe program, will use the same concept when it comes to sight.

“I’ve realized the TOMS One for One model could do more than give shoes – it could and should address other needs around the world,” said Mycoshkie.

TOMS will now use the one-to-one program with eye wear so when one buys a pair of TOMS glasses or sunglasses they will give a pair to one in need.

“When I first heard about TOMS launching their line of eye wear, I knew I wanted to be a part of the philanthropic initiative to give people the gift of sight across the world,” said J. Sabherwal.

TOMS will help give sight to people in need through medical treatment, prescription eyeglasses and sight saving surgery.

The first countries to benefit from TOMS Eye wear will be Nepal, Tibet and Cambodia.

The event will include a remote radio broadcast along with a drawing for a chance to win a free pair of TOMS sunglasses among other prizes.
