According to an email sent from university officials, Highlands 8 experienced a sprinkler line break in the ceiling of the fourth floor on Saturday, Feb. 28.

The damage consists of the main lobby areas on all floors of the building and in the central stairway. Reportedly, there was limited damage to student property; however, it will take several weeks to repair the damaged areas. Residents of Highlands 8 have been relocated to Dearborn Hall while repairs are underway. The email explained that students should take “everything you will need for a stay of four or more weeks.” Furthermore, students will be “refunded the difference in cost between Highlands and traditional housing for a minimum of six weeks.”

If students have further concerns, they are to call the Office of Residence Life and Housing, at 7322818.
